I was going to be close to Pittsburgh and I thought, why not at least observe something that doesn't happen every day or even every year. The G20 was the meeting of the leaders of the supposed 20 most powerful nations. The countries… Continue

Greg Capillo Worker's Rights Consortium Information From Our Friends at UM

Now that we have decided that we want to truly be the conscience of this university and hold our administration accountable for its desire to "make poverty history," we have to learn exactly what we're getting ourselves into here. Attached are some documents form my friend Ella when she and her group, United Students Against Sweathshops, began their own campaign. We'll hopefully go through them together to try and figure out what they mean. I've also attached a link to the Worker's Rights Con… Continue

Lindsey Filiatreau A Kenyan Experience YOU Should Live.

While today did not mark the first time in my travels that Kenya has become real to me, it was probably the first time I’ve ever felt bad about where I come from. Ezra has been asking me for quite some time to travel with him to Buguta (the village neighboring the town I live and work in) to take some pictures of some construction work going on there. A teacher from WKU helped raise the funds to put a roof on the new house of a family from the area and Ezra wanted her to see exactly what the fun… Continue
